Spend an afternoon or evening tasting your way through Hanoi, with the city’s busy streets and hidden corners as your backdrop. Your small group meets near St. Joseph’s Cathedral, where your guide introduces the church and its place in the city before the Jeep takes you to the first food stop. Then tuck into bún chả at Hương Liên, the family-run restaurant where former U.S. President Barack Obama and chef Anthony Bourdain shared a meal in 2016. The journey continues through the French Quarter, past the Hanoi Opera House, along the colorful Ceramic Road, and to Long Bien Bridge, where you can step out for a closer look at the city. Hop back into the Jeep and follow the sounds and smells of Hanoi’s food scene to local restaurants and small alleys. Sample different dishes, including several styles of phở, then take a lakeside drive and pause for a photo near Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Finish with a cup of Hanoi egg coffee. With a local guide, a professional Jeep driver, and all food and drinks included, this 3.5 to 4-hour small-group tour pairs generous tastings with a lively ride through the capital, by day or after dark. Choose the lunchtime departure from 12:30 to 4:00 PM or the night tour from 6:00 to 9:30 PM.
